Welcome to the Online Domestic Cutting Permit Renewal Application

In Newfoundland and Labrador, a cutting permit is required to cut timber on or remove timber from Crown lands or public lands. Permits for cutting timber for personal use, and not for sale, barter or gift, are referred to as Domestic Cutting Permits. These permits are valid for the current calendar year and can be renewed online (if eligible), or in person at any Forest Service District Office.

You can renew your Domestic Cutting Permit online if;

  1. You had a valid Domestic Cutting Permit issued the previous year;
  2. You do not have any outstanding fines (forestry, traffic, etc.);
  3. You are not applying for the senior age discount for the first time; and
  4. You do not need to change your Helper information (if applicable).
    Note: you can remove a Helper from your permit but you cannot add a new one;

To renew online, you will need:

  1. The 9 digit permit number found on your previous Domestic Cutting Permit;
